Accessing Office & OneDrive

With an Office 365 subscription, you get the latest Office apps, both the desktop and the online versions, and updates when they happen.

OneDrive makes the work you do available to you from anywhere and to others when you collaborate or share.

Logging In

Go to www.office.com


Click sign in.

Remember: sign in with your Franklin email address

Installing Office on a home PC

Log into Office 365 as above if you are not already.

In the right hand top of the page you will see the install icon as below.

Office can be installed on up to 5 different computers. You can keep track of the computers you have installed software on by logging in and navigating to the Software Settings section via the cog in the upper right corner of the page.

So, What is 365

Office 365 is the brand name Microsoft uses for a group of subscriptions that provide Office software. The College subscription to Office 365 allows staff and students to use Microsoft Office apps on a variety of devices, provides storage space on OneDrive for Business and gives you access to Skype for Business. In addition to the usual Microsoft Office apps, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote etc. Office 365 also offers additional collaboration and communication tools such as Groups and Teams and Yammer an enterprise social networking platform.Office 365 allows users to always work with the latest version of the Microsoft Office suite anywhere, anytime and in real time. This is possible because Office 365 is a cloud based service.

Please note that all Franklin College PCs and Macs, have the latest version of Office installed. This includes the following Microsoft applications; Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote. So, there’s no need to install Office software on College devices. Trying to do so risks causing problems to the computer you are on.
